DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY
Robert Tsai, originally from Taipei, Taiwan, received his Doctor of Physical Therapy education at Chapman University in 2018 and is currently a practicing physical therapist based in Orange County and Los Angeles.
Rob is a firm believer in elevating the independence, self awareness, and knowlege of health and wellness for dancers, and seeks to connect the science to the artist through DancePrehab. Rob has presented his research and co-taught movement sessions alongside Dr Van Ramshorst at conferences for the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science, as well as the Performing Arts Medicine Association.
Rob was first exposed to dance through breakin’/bboyin’ in high school, and continued his movement exploration at Chapman University as an undergraduate, studying ballet, jazz, and modern techniques. Rob spent 8 years auditioning and working in the LA commercial dance industry, represented by Movement Talent Agency and Bloc. While teaching throughout the United States and Taiwan, witnessing the positive effect of movement on students inspired Rob to pursue a second career in physical therapy.
Currently, Rob is completing a research study which examines low back pain in breakers.
